Sazhinskiy Confectionary participated in largest industrial festival “Spice cake Day”

“Spice cake Day” was held on the territory of Tula Kremlin on 4 August 2018. The event brought together more than 35 confectioners-producers from all over Russia and more than 12 thousand residents and visitors of the city. Each region of our vast country has its own spice cake traditions. The festival provided an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with all the peculiarities of spice cake baking business.

Sazhinskiy Confectionary made its participation special… Starting from its location in the largest branded tent to thematic contests. There was a surprise prepared for the youngest visitors of the event: edible gingerbread dominoes and gingerbread checkers (the board and figures were made of spice cake dough and hand-painted by decorators). Not only were the visitors of the festival enthused with these games but also the organizers of the event, though they have already seen a lot in this business.

The star turn of Sazhinskiy Confectionary was the presentation of a 50-kilo edible reproduction of the masterpiece of the famous marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky "the Ninth Wave". The spice cake was baked according to the original recipe from classic ginger dough, soaked in fragrant syrup with the addition of wine in combination with a juicy filling of prunes. It was decorated with the help of a new technique of applying glaze with a palette knife, which is usually used by artists in painting. The spice cake masterpiece of 120х90 cm size was tasted by over 500 people. They lined for their treat along the square.

For its active participation in the 3rd inter-regional festival “Spice cake Day" Sazhinskiy Confectionary received a letter of thanks appreciation from the Ministry of Culture of Tula region. But the most important appreciation was happy smiles of the visitors of the event!
